Hand Therapist’s are Occupational Therapists or Physiotherapists who have undergone extensive training in the management and rehabilitation of upper limb conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.

Hand Therapists can treat injuries, conditions and surgical repairs of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. These include fractures, dislocations, overuse/tendonitis, wrist rehabilitation, nerve injuries and wound/scar management.

Hand Therapists can typically see patients within the first three to five days following surgery or injury. These appointments generally include removing surgery dressings (as directed by your referring surgeon or doctor), fabricating splints, swelling and wound management, and moving unaffected joints.

A referral is essential for those clients claiming through a compensable body (e.g TAC, WC, EPC, DVA). We encourage all clients to bring any relevant scans and documentation to your appointment.

Hand therapy is not covered by Medicare. If your GP has submitted a Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC), a rebate is available for up to 5 sessions per calander year. If eligible, you are required to pay upfront for the consultation and then claim your rebate through Medicare.

Yes, if you are covered for Occupational Therapy. For rebate entitlements please speak to your Health Fund. You are required to pay upfront for the consultation and then claim your rebate through your fund.

Private clients must pay their invoice in full on the day of their appointment.
Clients with TAC or WorkSafe coverage need to provide their claim number so that we can direct the invoice to the appropriate third party. If you do not have a TAC or WorkSafe claim number at the time of your appointment, you will need to pay your account in full and then seek reimbursement from the third party.

We ask for minimum 24 hours notice for cancellations, so we can offer your appointment time to another client in need. A late cancellation fee may apply for less than 24 hours notice.

ALL Patients are urged to bring any documentation or scans (eg x-rays, ultrasounds, referrals, operation notes etc...)
Please attend 10 minutes early to your appointment to allow time to fill out our New Patient Form and allowing our therapists to review any scans or referral.

Yes, custom splinting and exercise equipment have additional fees to cover the cost of the materials. Your therapist will discuss these fees with you during your consultation.
